Dr. Keith Potter – BIO
After twenty-six years as a lead pastor in three California churches, Dr. Keith Potter launched out in 2010 to pursue his passions as a renewal agent in the wider world by launching Potter’s Clay. As a leadership coach, Keith brings to the Champion Project a clear word and a seasoned view on mobilizing influencers and initiating organizational change. An author, presenter and consultant, Keith equips leaders for the hard work of establishing a winning culture and inspires people to be decisive about the values, visions, goals, strategies and tactics that bring health and sustained excellence to any enterprise.
A Pacific Northwest native, Keith holds bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees from Northwest Christian Universityand Fuller Seminary, and studied at Western Washington University, the University of Oregon and Bethel Seminary. Along with churches, Keith served on the staff of Simpson University and the adjunct staff of Fuller Seminary, and is a lecturer at the Baltic Pastoral Institute in Riga, Latvia and the Center for Excellence in Church Leadership in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Keith has spoken at universities, conferences, camps, clubs, workshops and events of every kind. His great enthusiasm will forever be communication and its influence on the nurture of heathy relationships and teams.
Keith’s first book, Ushakable: The Building Blocks of an Enduring Marriage, coaches and counsels married couples in three languages. His Unshakable Marriage Workshops have been presented in five states and three countries. He co-authored SportsTweet: What I Learned from Coaches About Sports and Life, by Ronnie Lott, and has written several books nearing publication that address leadership, organizational change, spiritual growth and marital health.
As an athlete, Keith was much less prodigious than his partners in the Champion Project (people like Ronnie Lott). Nonetheless, he was a three-sport star in high school and a successful small college basketball player, contributing to two national championships. Those winning experiences and the love of sports bring passion and perspective to The Champion Project, where we celebrate the lessons learned on all of life’s playing fields.
Keith lives in Southern California. He and Sue have three children, Kristen (married to Joe Cabalka), Erin (13) and Luke (6).
